100% Blockout Curtain

100% blockout curtains are designed to block out all light from entering a room, providing a complete darkness space. These curtains are perfect for bedrooms or spaces where you want to have a good sleep during the day or want to minimize external light and distractions like the media room.

They are typically made from dense, thick fabrics or a special lining material that prevents light from passing through. In addition to light blocking, they can also help with insulation, noise reduction, and privacy. Some 100% blockout curtains also come with thermal or soundproofing properties.

Semi Blockout Curtain

Semi-blockout curtains are a great option if you want to reduce the amount of light entering a room without completely blocking it out. These curtains typically block between 50-90% of light, depending on the fabric and design. They offer a more balanced approach to light control, allowing some natural light to filter through while still providing privacy and reducing glare.
Ideal for living rooms, kitchens, or spaces where you want to maintain a softer, more ambient light while still cutting down on brightness.
They are often made from lighter fabrics or feature a lighter lining compared to 100% blockout curtains.
In addition to light filtering, semi-blockout curtains may still offer benefits like temperature regulation and noise reduction, though they’re not as effective as full blockout options in those areas.

Backing (extra layer)

A backing or extra layer to curtains enhances their functionality and appearance , it helps block out light completely.. It is often made of a separate fabric layer sewn onto the back of the curtain panel.
There are several reasons why people choose to add this layer:
1. Light Control
2. Insulation and Temperature Regulation
3. Privacy
4. Aesthetic

Things to Consider:
Weight and Thickness: Adding a backing increases the overall weight of the curtains, so you’ll want to ensure your curtain rods and hardware can handle it.
Cleaning: Curtains with backings might be a bit more challenging to clean due to the added layer, especially if the backing is made of delicate material.

Privacy Sheer

Privacy sheers are a type of fabric used in window treatments that offer a balance between light filtering and privacy. They are typically made of a lightweight, semi-opaque material that allows natural light to enter while preventing people from seeing into the room.
Ideal for areas like living rooms & Dining Rooms, Bedrooms, Offices or Study Spaces, kitchens, or any space where you want light but also need privacy.

Things to Consider:
Night Privacy: As mentioned, at night, privacy sheers won’t block the view from the outside if you have lights on indoors. You may want to pair them with more substantial drapes or blinds for nighttime privacy.
Fabric Weight: Sheers come in a variety of fabrics, and the thickness will impact the level of privacy and light filtering. A thicker sheer provides more privacy, while a thinner one will let more light through.

Transparency Sheer

Transparent sheers are a type of fabric used in window treatments that are very lightweight and almost completely see-through. These sheers allow maximum light to enter the room while providing a soft, airy look. However, they offer very little privacy, especially during the day when it’s bright outside. It always features delicate, Airy Aesthetic and elegance.
Ideal for bright, open spaces where you want natural light to fill the room but don’t need full privacy like Living Areas & Dining Rooms, Balconies & Patios. As well as for bedrooms which is a softer, more romantic ambiance, although for nighttime privacy, you’d need to layer them with heavier curtains or blinds.

Things to Consider:
Privacy Concerns: Since they are almost entirely see-through, transparent sheers aren’t suitable for spaces where privacy is important, especially at night or if you’re on the ground floor.
Need for Layering: If privacy is important but you still want the look and feel of transparent sheers, layering them with a thicker curtain or blind can solve this issue.

Roller Blinds

Roller blinds are a simple, functional, and stylish window covering solution. They consist of a single piece of fabric that rolls up and down on a cylindrical tube (the roller), typically controlled with a chain or motorized mechanism. Roller blinds are known for their clean lines, ease of use, and versatility.

Fabric Choices: They come in a wide variety of fabrics, including blackout, light-filtering, sheer, and waterproof options. The fabric you choose will determine how much light is allowed into the room.

Benefits of roller blinds include easy to maintain, modern and minimalist, space-efficient and energy efficient.

Plantation Shutter

Shutters are a stylish and functional window treatment that can enhance both the aesthetics and practicality of a room. Unlike curtains or blinds, plantation shutters are typically made of solid materials like wood or pvc and have horizontal slats that can be adjusted to control light, airflow, and privacy.

Style: Plantation shutters are the most common type of shutter used in modern homes. They have wide slats (usually 2.5 to 4 inches wide) and are often used in living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens. These shutters are made from pvc.
Benefits: These shutters offer a clean, contemporary look and are versatile for different interior styles. They also provide excellent light control, ventilation, and privacy.
Operation: The slats are usually adjusted by a tilt rod or a hidden mechanism, allowing you to control how much light enters the room.
Ideal For: Plantation shutters are perfect for larger windows or areas where you want a more relaxed, elegant feel.

S fold or S wave pleats Curtain / Sheer

An S-fold curtain/sheer is a type of curtain pleat style that creates a soft, elegant, and flowing appearance. The name “S-fold” comes from the way the fabric is pleated, resembling the shape of an “S” as it forms natural, smooth curves. This type of pleating is often used to create a modern and stylish look in a room, offering both function and aesthetic appeal.
They can be made from different types of fabric, from light sheers to heavy drapes, depending on the level of privacy or light filtering you want.

Pinch Pleat Curtain / Sheer

Pinch pleat curtains are a classic and elegant type of curtain that features tightly gathered pleats at the top, creating a tailored and formal look. The “pinch” refers to the way the fabric is gathered and stitched together to form a pleat at regular intervals. This style is popular for adding a sophisticated, structured look to windows.

Pinch pleat curtains tend to have a more formal and traditional style, making them a great choice for dining rooms, living rooms, or formal spaces.

You can use a curtain track or a curtain pole to hang pinch pleat curtains, but tracks are more commonly used for their smooth, controlled movement.

Blinds Install within Frame

It is a great option when you want a sleek, integrated look. The blind fits neatly inside the window recess, creating a clean and minimalist appearance without any visible brackets or mounting hardware around the edges.
Recess Depth: Make sure your window recess has enough depth to accommodate the roller blinds, especially if you’re choosing a blind with a thicker cassette.

Blinds install on Frame / Face Fit

Installing roller blinds on the frame (also known as an over-recess fitting or surface mounting) means the blind will be mounted on the exterior of the window frame, typically above the recess. This method is ideal if you don’t have a deep enough recess or prefer the blinds to be installed outside the frame for easier access or a different look.

By installing the roller blind on the frame, you get a more prominent and easily accessible window covering. This method is great for controlling light, enhancing privacy, and giving your windows a polished look.

Roller Blinds Recessed Fit Installation

Recessed mounting means that the roller blind is mounted directly inside the window frame, so it sits neatly within the opening. This type of installation is typically used for windows with a deep enough recess to accommodate the brackets and roller tube.
The blind is mounted flush to the window frame, which offers a more discreet and integrated look, with no brackets or mounting hardware visible from the outside.
Recessed mounting provides a sleek, clean look for your roller blinds, as they are mounted within the frame, offering a more seamless finish to your window. This method is perfect for those who want a minimalist, tidy appearance without visible hardware.

Roller Blinds Face Fit Installation

It refers to the installation method where the blinds are mounted on the outside of the window frame, typically on the wall or ceiling, rather than inside the frame (recess mount). This method is ideal for windows with shallow or no recess, and it allows the blind to cover the entire window frame for a fuller, more dramatic look.
Face mounting is a great way to mount roller blinds when you want a straightforward installation or need to install blinds on windows with a shallow recess. It gives a more prominent appearance and can block more light by extending the coverage beyond the frame.

Ceiling Mount installation for Curtains / Sheers

Ceiling mount refers to installing window treatments like sheers, curtains,  roller blinds or shutters directly onto the ceiling rather than on the wall or inside the window frame. This method is ideal for situations where you want a clean, minimalist look or when you have little space around the window frame to install brackets on the walls.

For windows with high ceilings, ceiling mounting helps ensure that the treatment covers the entire height of the window.

Wall Mount installation for Curtains / Sheers

Wall mounting refers to the installation of window treatments—such as sheers, curtains, shutters or roller blinds—directly onto the wall above or around the window. This is one of the most common and flexible mounting methods, offering several options for placement, depending on the look and functionality you want to achieve.

Wall mounting window treatments is a versatile and common method, providing excellent light control, privacy, and a polished appearance. Whether you opt for sheers, curtains, shutters or roller blinds, wall mounting ensures your window treatments are securely in place and look great.

Single track for Curtains / Sheers

A single track system is a versatile and stylish choice for many different window treatment types, offering simplicity, functionality, and a clean, modern look. Whether you’re using it for sheers, curtains or roller blinds, this system provides an efficient solution for controlling light, privacy, and aesthetics.

The track runs across the window, and the treatment (sheers, curtains, blinds, etc.) hangs from it, either with hooks, rings, or clips, and can be drawn open and closed along the single rail.

Double track for Curtains / Sheers

A double track system provides a versatile, functional solution for combining two layers of window treatments. Whether you’re layering curtains for aesthetic reasons or using blinds for practical purposes like privacy and light control, this system offers flexibility and enhanced functionality. It’s perfect for achieving a balanced look, where you can mix and match fabrics, and control both the amount of light and the level of privacy in your space.

Motorisation: Some double track systems, especially for blinds or curtains, can be motorised for added convenience, allowing you to open and close them with a remote or through a smart home system.

Curved track for Curtains / Sheers

A curved track system is an excellent solution for covering curved, angled, or non-traditional windows, such as bay, arched, or circular windows. Unlike traditional straight tracks, it allows you to install window treatments in a way that complements the unique shape of the space, angled areas for a seamless and functional look, while also providing functionality, light control, and privacy. Whether for curtains, blinds, or panel systems, a curved track can enhance the overall look and feel of the room.

It can help make the most of an otherwise awkward space, fitting perfectly into unconventional window shapes. This maximizes the functionality of the space while adding a sleek, stylish touch.
